[AK4456] Rev. 0.0 2014/06 - 1 - 1.General Description AK4456 is a 32 -bit DAC which corresponds to DVD-audio systems. An internal circuit includes newly developed 32 -bit Digital Filter for better sound quality achieving low distortion characteristics and wide dynamic range. The AK4456 has full differential SCF outputs, removing the need for AC coupling capacitors and increasing performance for systems with excessive clock jitter. The AK4456 accepts 768kHz PCM data and 1 -bit DSD data, ideal for a wide range of appli cations includin g DVD -Audio, SACD and car audio surround system. 2.Features (1) 256x Over sampling (2) Sampling Rate: 8kHz  768kHz (3) 32Bit 8x Digital Filter - Ripple: 0.0032dB, Attenuation: 80dB - High Quality Sound Short Delay Option; GD=6.25/fs and GD=5.3/fs - Sharp Roll-Off Filter - Slow Roll-Off Filter - Super Slow Roll Off (4) High Tolerance to Clock Jitter (5) Low Distortion Differential Output (6) DSD data input (7) Daisy Chain (8) Digital De-emphasis for 32, 44.1, 48kHz sampling (9) Soft Mute (10) Digital Attenuator (255 levels and 0.5dB step) (11) Stereo Mode (12) THD+N: -107dB (13) DR, S/N: 115dB (14) I/F Format: - 24/32bit MSB justified - 16/20/24/32bit - LSB justified - I2S - DSD - TDM (15) 3-wire Serial and I2C μP I/F (16) Master Clock: - 30kHz ~ 32kHz: 1152fs - 30kHz ~ 54kHz: 512fs or 768fs - 30kHz ~ 108kHz: 256fs or 384fs - 108kHz ~ 216kHz: 128fs or 192fs ~ 384kHz:64fs or 128fs ~ 768kHz:64fs (17) Power Supply: - TVDD= 1.7  3.6V - AVDD=3.0  5.5V (18) Digital Input Level: CMOS (19) Package: 48-pin QFN AK4456 115dB 768kHz 32-bit 6ch Premium DAC = Preliminary =

DAC1: AOUT (typ.@0dB) = (AOUT+)  (AOUT) = 2.8Vpp  (VREFH1 VREFL1)/5 Note 9. Regarding Load Resistance, AC load is 2k (min) with a DC cut capacitor. DC load is 2 k (min) without a DC cut capacitor. The load resistance value is with respect to ground. Analog characteristics are sensitive to capacitive load that is connected to the output pin. Therefore the capacitive load must be minimized. Note 10. In the power down mode. All other digital input pins including clock pins (MCLK, BICK and LRCK) are held DVSS.
