Three other combined operating modes areconstantcurrent+constantvoltage,constant resistance+constantvoltage,constantpower+constant voltage. Users can select operating modes based upon products’ test requirements. For CC mode the electronic loadwillsinka constantcurrentaccordingtotheset currentvalue;forCVmodetheelectronicloadwill attempttosinksufficientcurrenttocontrolthesource voltagetotheprogrammedvalue;forCRmodethe electronicloadwillsinkacurrentlinearlyproportional to the input voltage according to the set resistance value;forCPmodetheelectronicloadwillinitiateload powersinkingoperation(loadvoltagexloadcurrent) in accordance with the programmed power setting. Tomeettherequirementsofdifferenttestconditions, theStaticfunctionistosinkaconstantcurrent;the Dynamicfunctionistoperiodicallyswitchbetweentwo sinkconditions,andtheSequencefunctionistoprovide testsformorethantwosinkconditions.Thesequence functioncanbedividedintoNormalSequenceandFast Sequence.NormalSequenceisthemostflexiblemeans ofgeneratingcomplexsequences,thatcanallowusers toestablisha setofchangingcurrentsinkconditions basedupondifferentsinkingrequirements(CC,CR,CV orCPmode)andtime(adjustablerange:1msto999 h 59min59sinNormalMode).Fastsequenceallows timeresolutionof25ustobesetforthesmalleststep. Settingparametersformultiplestepscansimulate consecutivecurrentchangesofvariousrealload conditions.Forinstance,whileusinganelectronicload totestapower-driventool’spowersupply. TheSoftStartfunctionallowsuserstodeterminethe risetimeofthecurrentsinkbymeasuringtherequired timetoreachtheelectronicload’ssetcurrent,resistance orpowervalue.SettingaproperrisetimeforSoft Startwillcounteroutputvoltagefluctuationscaused bya DUT’s(powersupply)transientoutputcurrent. GenerallyDCloadsdonothavethesoftstartfunction that is built in to the T3EL Series. Whenconductinghighspeedcurrentsinkoperation, theinductanceeffectonthecablesconnectingthe electronic load and DUT will lead to transient voltage drop on the electronic load’s input terminals that will resultinVoltageNon-monotonicincrease.TheT3EL Seriessoftstartfunctionnotonlyallowstheoutput voltagetofollowa Monotonicincrease,butalsoprevents inrush current and surge voltages that could damage the DUT.Forinstance,testsusingapowersupply,LEDand aDCload(activatethesoftstartfunction)canprevent inrushcurrentandsurgevoltagesfromcausingdamage to the LEDs. Thebuilt-inBATTTestAutomationprovidesbattery dischargeapplicationswithmoreflexibledischargestop settingsaswellasriseandfallSlewRatesfordischarge current settings. TheOCP,OPPtestAutomationforDUT’s(ex.Power Supply),provideuserswithhighresolutionmeasurement valuestoverifyDUT’sactivationpointandprovideusers with measurement results to help them determine whether DUT’s actual over protection activation point meets regulations. The T3EL Series provides users with an analog control terminaltocontroltheT3ELSeriesusinganexternal voltage,externalresistanceandswitch.
