HIGH POW ER GaNPak B AM PLIFIER CougarG aNPak B AVP2034 The AVP2034 am plifier provides nom inal output pow er of 20-22 W atts. Each am plifier uses control circuitry to ensure safe startup and autom atic therm al shutdow n and recovery. The am plifiers have an external pin for TTL on/off control. O n/O ff Low or H igh can be specified; standard is O ff/Low. The AVP2034 uses the pream p and driver stages to provide ~ 4 0 dB of overall gain. H eat sinking is required to keep the case tem peratures w ithin a safe operating range. A thin layer of therm al grease or H iTherm (for exam ple the H T-2500 series) helps provide a low resistance therm al path betw een the case and the m ounting surface. The m ounting surface should be m etal w ith heat conduction of alum inum or better. H eat sink size depends on w hether fan-driven air cooling is used, or if only convection is used. M axim um Tj of both am plifiers is 200°C . H E AT SIN K W A R N IN G : This am plifier requires an adequate heat sink to prevent dam age. M axim um case tem perature m ust not be exceeded. The package is designed to provide ade - quate heat transfer to proper alum inum heat sink.
