Flareon SFN7004F quad-port 10G b Ethernet SFP+ server adapter provides the best overall perform ance with low C PU utilization for 10G bE networking with four 10G bE ports. W ith a PC Ie 3.0 host interface, an all new internal data-path m icro-architecture, the addition of a hardware switch fabric, and featuring a full set of stateless offloads, SFN7004F reduces C PU processing overhead for the m ost dem anding network tasks in data center, enterprise, cloud, and network-attached storage networks. SFN7004F also accelerates database, social networking, em ail and other storage-intensive applications with high bandwidth and low latency network access to SA N and NA S environm ents. Unique Application Performance SFN 7004F's unique hardw are-accelerated virtualized N IC (vN IC ) architecture provides concrete benefits to m ulti-core com puting. In m any cases, netw ork traffic that is directed to a single C PU core can overload the core and create a perform ance bottleneck. SFN 7004F can use up to 2048 vN IC s and 240 virtual functions to im plem ent R eceive Side Scaling (R SS) and accelerate R eceive Flow Steering (R FS) to distribute netw ork traffic across m ultiple cores. These technologies allow the netw orking I/O processing to be spread across the available C PU cores, elim inating processing bottlenecks and dram atically im proving application perform ance and scal - ability. SFN 7004F also im proves data inten - sive key value storage applications such as N oSQ L, m em cached, C ouchbase and other big data applications by accelerating throughput and reducing latency for com pute and E thernet storage. SFN7004F also features hardware acceleration to optim ize packet delivery , such as integrated layer 2 switching capability and VLA N insertion/ rem oval, along with TC P segm entation offload (TSO ) to reduce C PU load. Scalable, Hardware-Assisted Virtualization W ith 10x the num ber of vNIC s and virtual PC Ie functions than the com petition, SFN 7004F perform ance scales as the num ber of C PU cores and VM s increase, supporting m ore applications per physical server, i.e., greater VM density. SFN 7004F also supports N etQ ueue, VM Q , and SR -IO V used to accelerate guest applications in leading hypervisors, such as ESXi, H yper-V , KVM , and Xen. This relieves netw ork I/O bottlenecks dedicating full netw ork bandw idth directly to VM s w hile m aintaining full hypervisor m anagem ent services. Sixteen physical PC Ie functions enable finer granularity and greater scalability w hen allocating Q uality of Service for optim ized bandw idth utilization as I/O dynam ically fluctuates. SFN 7004F w ith A ppFlex™ technology provides the flexibility to selectively add and control services.
