Parts & Service: 020 8988 7400 / E-mail: Parts@clarkeinternational.com or Service@clarkeinternational.com INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing this Clarke Float Switch, which is simple to install and designed for trouble free operation and a long life. The FS1is a plastic float switch moulded to 3 core cable. Actuation is via a roller ball and micro-switch within the switch. The microswitch assembly inside the float, axially mounted in line with the weight, changes contacts according to the float’s position. Therefore as the liquid level drops or rises slowly, a pump or flow control suitably connected can be switched on or off to maintain an average level of the liquid. By connecting only one side of the switch, the unit can be also used to fill or empty a tank or reservoir as required. Before attempting to use this product, please read this manual thoroughly and follow the instructions carefully. In doing so you will ensure the safety of yourself and that of others around you, and you can look forward to your purchase giving you long and satisfactory service. Parts & Service: 020 8988 7400 / E-mail: Parts@clarkeinternational.com or Service@clarkeinternational.com INSTALLATION To ensure the efficient function of the switch it is necessary to fix the electrical cable inside the tank as shown in fig:1. The length of the cable section between the Pivot Point (counterweight) and the float will determine the length of time the pump runs between starting and stopping. The switch must be free from obstructions within the area of the float arc. No joins should be made to the cable that may become immersed in water. HEIGHT COUNTERWEIGHT INSTALLATION For correct counterweight installation refer to the procedure as in fig: 2. 1. Insert the cable into the counterweight from the conical shaped end, turning it as shown. This will result in the detachment of the plastic ring inserted in the mouth (if required aid detachment by using a screwdriver) Place the ring at the point of the cable where the counterweight is to be fixed. 2. Fix the counterweight onto the ring using moderate pressure and turning it as shown.

Electrical Connections: Filling (Figs S & 6) To fill a tank; Connect 'Blue' and 'Black'.
