This accessory is designed to fit the CLARKE PLS195B, PLS265B & PLS360 petrol power washers. Before attempting to use this product, please read this manual thoroughly and follow the instructions carefully. In doing so you will ensure the safety of yourself and that of others around you, and you can look forward to your purchase giving you long and satisfactory service. GUARANTEE This product is guaranteed against faulty manufacture for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt which will be required as proof of purchase. This guarantee is invalid if the product is found to have been abused or tampered with in any way, or not used for the purpose for which it was intended. Faulty goods should be returned to their place of purchase, no product can be returned to us without prior permission. This guarantee does not effect your statutory rights. ENVIRONMENTAL RECYCLING POLICY Should any components become completely unserviceable and require disposal, plastic and metal components should be disposed for re-cycling according to local regulations.

ALWAYS consult the user manual of the pressure washer that you are using to confirm that this accessory can safely be used with the washer. 2. Adhere to all safety rules and warning associated with the pressure washer you are using. 3. DO NOT point the spray at other people, animals, electrical equipment or the machine itself. 4. DO NOT hold your finger over the high pressure nozzles inside the unit. 5. DO NOT let children or untrained personnel use this accessory. 6. DO NOT operate the accessory with any of the covers removed. 7. If an accident does occur and the spray appears to have penetrated the skin, SEEK EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE, DO NOT TREAT AS A SIMPLE CUT. Be prepared to tell exactly what kind of cleaning agents you were using by reading the detergent label and the material safety data sheet provided with the detergent. 8. NEVER use any solvents or highly corrosive detergents or acid type cleaners with this cleaner. 9. Protective equipment such as waterproof suits, gloves and respirators are advisable, especially when using cleaning detergents. 10. Keep all detergents out of the reach of children. 11.ALWAYS wear protective goggles when operating the cleaner to shield the eyes from flying debris and detergents. 12.DO NOT direct spray towards fragile materials such as glass as shattering may occur. 13. High pressure hoses should be inspected before every use for signs of wear. If evidence of failure exists, promptly replace all suspect hoses to prevent the possibility of injury from the high pressure spray. If a hose or fitting is leaking, NEVER PLACE YOUR HAND DIRECTLY ON THE LEAK. 14. Before using the patio cleaner, or when quick connecting high pressure hoses, be certain the ‘collar’ on the female quick connect is locked securely to prevent accidental discharge and that all quick coupler fittings are secure. WARNING: WATER AT HIGH PRESSURE CAN BE DANGEROUS AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO PERSONS OR PROPERTY IF THE OPERATOR IS CARELESS. NEVER ALLOW ANYONE TO OPERATE THIS EQUIPMENT UNLESS THEY ARE THOROUGHLY RELIABLE AND FAMILIAR WITH THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS.

To prevent accidental discharge, the trigger gun should be securely locked shut when not in use. 16.DO NOT make repairs or adjustments while the cleaner is running. 17. Before removing the spray nozzle or servicing the cleaner, ALWAYS shut off the washer and pull the trigger of the gun to release trapped pressure. 18.ALWAYS let the cleaner cool down and service in a clean dry flat area. 19. Stay alert, watch what you are doing. DO NOT operate the cleaner when fatigued or under the influence of alcohol or drugs. 20.NEVER squeeze the trigger unless you are securely braced. 21.DO NOT overreach or stand on unstable ground. 22.CAUTION: Wet surfaces can be slippery, wear protective foot gear and keep good footing and balance at all times. 23.ALWAYS hold on firmly to the handle/trigger gun of the pressure washer when operating. Failure to do so can cause the cleaner to move dangerously. To prevent accidental discharge, the trigger gun should be securely locked shut when not in use. 24.DO NOT leave a pressurized cleaner unattended. Shut off the pressure washer and release trapped pressure before leaving.

Never spray acids, corrosive or toxic chemicals. Use only cleaners formulated for pressure washers. WARNING: Risk of electrocution. Never direct spray toward any electrical device or electrical outlet. Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment.

Contact your CLARKE dealer immediately if any parts are missing or damaged. INSTALLATION & PREPARATION NOZZLE SELECTION & INSTALLATION 1. Your cleaner comes installed with one set of 25020 nozzles (25 degree and 2.0 orifice). 2. The minimum orifice size to be used in the cleaner is half that which is being used in your pressure washer. Example: If your pressure washer uses a size 5 orifice, you will need to use a size 2.5 orifice in the cleaner, (two nozzles x size 2.5 orifice = size 5 orifice). 3. The nozzles being used should have a 15o-25o spray pattern; anything less that a 15o spray pattern can damage the area being cleaned, anything more than 25o may not allow the bar to rotate. 4. Nozzles should be screwed into the rotating spray bar. The spray fan should be parallel to the rotating spray bar as shown. CLEANER ASSEMBLY 1. Insert a clevis pin through each of the supports and lower handle and secure in place with a bridge pin. 3. Attach the upper handle by lining up the holes in the upper and lower handles. Insert a clevis pin through the aligned hole and secure in place with a bridge pin. 4. Quick connect the cleaner hose assembly to the handle and to the swivel located in the centre of the cleaner assembly.

Locate the high pressure discharge hose on your pressure washer and ensure it is securely connected to the water outlet of the pressure washer (consult your pressure washer user manual for more information). 2. Quick connect the other end of the high pressure discharge hose to the gun on the cleaner handle. 3. Connect the water supply hose, one end to your pressure washer, the other end to a pressurised water supply (consult your pressure washer user manual for more information). SURFACE PREPARATION 1. Clear any loose debris from the area to be cleaned. 2. NEVER attempt to clean a surface with objects that protrude from the surface being cleaned. Striking any raised obstacle during operation will damage the cleaner. If contact does occur and results in vibration when operating the cleaner, STOP and replace spray bar. PRE-START INSPECTION PROCEDURES 1. Inspect the cleaner before each use. Tighten the rotating spray bar, bolts and fittings as needed. 2. Ensure all connections are secure. Turn the water supply fully ‘ON’. 3. Inspect hoses for kinking, cuts or leaks. If found, DO NOT USE THE HOSE, replace damaged hoses before starting work. 4. Unlock the trigger on the gun and squeeze the trigger. Water will begin flowing from the nozzles on the rotating spray bar. Ensure the nozzles are not clogged and spray pattern is not erratic. Change the nozzles before proceeding if problems exist. 5. Be sure that any damaged parts are replaced and that the mechanical problems are corrected prior to operation. If you need service, contact the CLARKE service department. WARNING: RISK OF INJURY OR DAMAGE TO THE CLEANER. NEVER OPERATE THE CLEANER IF IT BEGINS TO VIBRATE. SHUTDOWN THE CLEANER AND TIGHTEN THE ROTATING SPRAY BAR, BOLTS AND FITTINGS.

Lock the trigger on the gun of the cleaner by moving the safety lock lever to a 90o angle so it rests against the handle grip. 2. Ensure all connections are secure. 3. Start the pressure washer. 4. Unlock the trigger on the gun and squeeze the trigger. WARNING: INCORRECT OPERATION OF THE CLEANER CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY. DO NOT ALTER OR MODIFY THIS CLEANER IN ANY MANNER.

NOTE:Ensure the nozzles are not clogged and the spray pattern is not erratic. Turn the pressure washer and water supply off and change the nozzles before proceeding if problems exist. 6. Walk slowly behind the cleaner, cleaning as you go. If striping occurs, slow down the pace of work. DO NOT allow the cleaner to remain stationary on soft surfaces such as wood. 7. Check the ‘Weep Hole’ on top of the swivel periodically. Water will seep slowly. If it shoots out, shut down the cleaner and pressure washer and replace seals and/or main seal. SHUT DOWN 1. Turn the pressure washer off. 2. Turn the water supply off. 3. Squeeze the trigger of the gun to relieve any water pressure. 4. Disconnect and drain the water hose and wipe down the cleaner. 5. Store the cleaner in a non freezing environment.

PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION Inadequate cleaning power Not enough PSI from the pressure washer Ensure the pressure washer produces a minimum of 2000 PSI (138 Bar). Most effective cleaning range is 2500 -4000 PSI (172-275 Bar) Inadequate water supply Turn water supply completely ‘ON’ and/ or clean water filter on the pressure washer. Ensure the pressure washer produces a minimum of 11.35 l/min (680 l/hour) Engine RPM on pressure washer is too low Increase throttle Nozzle obstructed or worn Clean or replace as necessary Incorrect nozzle orifice size Insert correct nozzles Rotating bar will not rotate Seal has drag Allow for running-in period Snap ring dislodgedDO NOT USE.
