SP486/487 Quad RS-485/RS-422 Line Drivers © Copyright 2000 Sipex Corporation DESCRIPTION… The SP486 and SP487 are low–power quad differential line drivers meeting RS-485 and RS-422 standards. The SP486 features a common driver enable control; the SP487 provides indepen- dent driver enable controls for each pair of drivers. Both feature tri–state outputs and wide common–mode input range. Both are available in 16–pin plastic DIP and SOIC packages. n RS-485 or RS-422 Applications n Quad Differential Line Drivers n Tri–state Output Control n 40ns Typical Driver Propagation Delays n 5ns Skew n –7V to +12V Common Mode Output Range n 100µA Supply Current n Single +5V Supply Operation n Pin Compatible with SN75172, SN75174, LTC486, and LTC487 SP487DI1 DO 1A DO 1B EN 1/EN2 DO 2B DO 2A DI2 GND VCC DI4 DO 4A DO 4B EN 3/EN4 DO 3B DO 3A DI3 SP486DI1 DO 1A DO 1B EN DO 2B DO 2A DI2 GND VCC DI4 DO 4A DO 4B EN DO DO 3A DI3 SP486/487 Quad RS-485/RS-422 Line Drivers
