Le impurità vengono separate per mezzo di un insieme di superfici metalliche reticolari disposte a raggiera che ne permettono la separazione. Tali impurità possono successivamente essere evacuate per mezzo della valvola di scarico. The R146D dirt separator allows the separation and removal of impurities present in the hydronic circuits of modern HVAC systems. The impurities are separated by means of a set of reticular metallic surfaces radially arranged that allow their separation. The impurities can be removed by the discharge valve.  Funzionamento Il flusso entra nel defangatore e subisce un rallentamento tale da favorire la separazione delle impurità solide presenti nel fluido. Le impurità solide vengono separate in seguito alla collisione con la maglia metallica (Componenti - Rif.3). È possibile eseguire la pulizia della maglia metallica senza doverlo smontare e/o spegnere l’impianto, aprendo il rubinetto di intercettazione (Componenti - Rif.4). The flow enters the dirt separator and is slowed down, allowing for the separation of the solid impurities present in the fluid. The solid impurities are separated when they collide with the metal mesh (Components - Ref.3). The metallic mesh can be cleaned without having to remove it and/or switch off the system, by opening the shut-off cock (Components - Ref.4).  Operation

Per la pulizia periodica fare riferimento al paragrafo di manutenzione. The dirt separator must be installed on the return circuit to protect the boiler from any impurities present in the conduit. For periodic cleaning, see the section on maintenance. L ’installazione del defangatore può essere effettuata solo su tubazioni orizzontali. Non è possibile installare il prodotto in posizione capovolta (rubinetto verso l’alto) e orizzontale. The installation of dirt separator can be made only in horizontal pipe. Is not possible to install the product upside down (drain cock up) and horizontal. * Posizione ammessa se utilizzato solo in modalità deaeratore. * Permissible position if used only in air-separator mode. Use of the R146D dirt-separator in air-separator operation 1) R146D dirt-separator can be transformed in dirt-separator/ Air-separator by installing the automatic air vent valve instead of the top cap and by keeping the standard installation orientation. 2) To use the R146D dirt-separator only in Air-separator mode is necessary to mount the body upside down and install the automatic air vent valve instead of the drain cock. In this configuration the product works only as Air-separator. Utilizzo del defangatore R146D in modalità disareatore 1) Defangatore R146D può essere trasformato in defangatore/disaeratore installando la valvola automatica di sfogo aria al posto del tappo superiore e mantenendo l’orientamento standard di installazione. 2) Per utilizzare il defangatoro R146D solo in modalità disaeratore occorre montare il corpo sottosopra e installare una valvola automatica di sfogo aria al posto del rubinetto di scarico. In questa configurazione il prodotto non agisce più come defangatore. 1 2

Tuttavia, per una pulizia più efficace è ideale eseguire queste operazioni in assenza di flusso all’interno del defangatore. 1) Durante il funzionamento dell’impianto, lo sporco si deposita sulla superficie sul fondo del defangatore. 2) Procedere aprendo il rubinetto di scarico. 3) Una volta che le impurità sono state fatte fuoriuscire, chiudere il rubinetto di scarico. Il defangatore riprenderà il normale funzionamento. Cleaning the metallic mesh To clean the metallic mesh without having to remove it and/or switch off the system, proceed as indicated below. However, for more effective cleaning, it is advisable to carry out these steps when the flow to the dirt separator has been shut off. 1) During the system function, the dirt is deposited on the surface on the bottom of the dirt separator. 2) Proceed with opening the drain cock. 3) Once the impurities have been removed, close the drain cock again. The dirt separator will resume normal operation. Rimozione della maglia metallica (solo per versione filettata) Per una migliore pulizia è possibile rimuovere la maglia metallica del separatore, procedendo nel seguente modo: 1) Spegnere l’impianto e intercettare il fluido con delle valvole a sfera, a monte e a valle del defangatore, per evitare che circoli acqua all’interno dello stesso. 2) Svitare in senso orario la base del defangatore. 3) Rimuovere la maglia metallica dal defangatore e pulirla. 4) Reinserire la maglia metallica ed avvitare nuovamente la base del defangatore. Removing the metallic mesh (only for threaded version) The metallic mesh can be removed for improved cleaning, by carrying out the following steps: 1) Switch off the system and stop the fluid using ball valves, upstream and downstream of the dirt separator, to prevent water circulating inside the dirt separator. 2) Unscrew the base of the dirt separator in a clockwise direction. 3) Remove the metallic mesh from the dirt separator and clean it. 4) Reinsert the metallic mesh and re-tighten the base of the dirt separator.

Installation of the P146M kit on R146D dirt separators 1) Switch off the system. 2) Remove the cap on the upper part of the dirt separator, by unscrewing in an anticlockwise motion. 3) Insert the P146M kit in the upper part of the dirt separator in place of the cap, screwing in a clockwise motion. OFF  NOTA. Il kit P146M è composto dal pozzetto portamagnete (1) con guarnizione di tenuta per installazione sul defangatore e dal tappo portamagnete (2) per inserimento nel relativo pozzetto. Per la rimozione del magnete dal pozzetto, svitare in senso orario.  NOTES. The P146M kit is composed of a magnet- holder housing (1) with gaskets for installation on dirt separator and a magnet-holder cap (2) for insertion in the relative housing. To remove the magnet from the housing, unscrew in a clockwise motion.
