Description

Pericom Semiconductor’s PI5V330 is a true bidirectional Quad 2-channel multiplexer/demultiplexer recommended for both RGB and composite video switching applications. The video switch can be driven from a current output RAMDAC or voltage output com- posite video source. Low On-Resistance and wide bandwidth make it ideal for video and other applications. Also this device has exceptionally high current capability which is far greater than most analog switches offered today. A single 5V supply is all that is required for operation. The PI5V330 offers a high-performance, low-cost solution to switch between video sources. The application section describes the PI5V330 replacing the HC4053 multiplier and buffer/amplifier. Low On-Resistance Wideband/Video Quad 2-Channel Mux/DeMux Supply V oltage to Ground Potential (Outputs & D/O Only)–0.5V to +7.0V Note: Stresses greater than those listed under MAXIMUM RAT- INGS may cause permanent damage to the device. This is a stress rating only and functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions above those indicated in the operational sections of this specification is not implied. Ex- posure to absolute maximum rating conditions for extended periods may affect reliability. Notes: 1. For Max. or Min. conditions, use appropriate value specified under Electrical Characteristics for the applicable device type. 2. Typical values are at VCC = 5.0V , TA = 25°C ambient and maximum loading. 3. Not more than one output should be shorted at one time. Duration of the test should not exceed one second. 4. Measured by the voltage drop between S1, S2, and D I/O pins at indicated current through the switch. On-Resistance is determined by the lower of the voltages on the S1, S2, and D I/O pins. For Max. or Min. conditions, use appropriate value specified under Electrical Characteristics for the applicable device. 2. Typical values are at VCC = 5.0V , +25°C ambient. 3. Per TTL driven input (VIN = 3.4V , control inputs only); S1, S2, and D pins do not contribute to ICC. 4. This current applies to the control inputs only and represent the current required to switch internal capacitance at the specified frequency. The S1, S2, and D I/O pins generate no significant AC or DC currents as they transition. This parameter is not tested, but is guaranteed by design. Notes: 1. This parameter is determined by device characterization but is not production tested.
