Description
The Se ries B NS33 coded-magn etsensorsaredesignedfor use as a safetyinterlock switchon movable mach ine guards/articulating robot arms.Eachsensorsetconsistsofa mu ltiple reed switch unitand a coded-magnetactuator.The reed switches,wired inseries,w illonlyclose inthepresence oftheirma tched mag neticfieldarray. Bot h switchand ma gnetassembliesaresealedtoIP67 (sub m ersible)standards (IP69K forBNS33S). Theirtamper- resistantdesignprevents bypassingwitha simplemagne tor improperly coded ma gneticfield.Inaddition,theBNS modu le features an optionalbuilt-inLED displayofswitchstatus,and a 1-m eterlong prewired pigtailtoassuresealingintegrity. O peration The reed switchassem blyistypically mou ntedtoa stationary portion ofa guardstructure,withthecoded-magnetassembly m ounted tothemo vable elementofthemach ineguard.When the guard isclosed,and thematched magn eticfieldaligns with the reed switch unit,the switcheswillclose.When the guard is open,orthe required mag netic-fieldarrayisnot properly alignedwiththereed switchassembly,thesensor outputw illremain “off.” TypicalAppl ications The sealed,comp actBNS3 3 isidealforuse on m ovable m achine guards inhostileenvironmen tsorwhe respace is limited.Typicalapplicationsinclude food processing equipm ent,chem icalprocessing equipment,wo odworking m achinery,packagingm achinery,and articulatingrobotarm restposition sensing.
