WWW.STACOENERGY.COMTOGETHER WE POWER ON FIRSTLINE BMS-II Most battery monitoring systems were developed to allow the user to have real time feedback on the health of their battery system. The FirstLine BMS-II was developed with this in mind, however, it also allows the end user to condition and control their battery system , thus improving the life of the system. Too often a BMS is a reactionary device - discover a problem and then repair or replace the bad battery. The FirstLine BMS-II employs a Battery Analysis and Care System that constantly load levels the jars within the battery string, preventing the ill effects of diverging voltages and cell impedance. This proactive conditioning and cell balancing helps prolong the life of the battery system. PROACTIVE MONITORING AND CONTROL Modules are placed on top of the battery for temperature sensing of the module and battery case. Optional terminal temperature sensing is available upon request. Communications between the modules and controller is achieved via the RJ11 CAN connection. Optional length CAN cables are available for stepping up and down within a battery rack or between battery cabinets. IFC CODE COMPLIANCE OPTION The FirstLine BMS-II also allows the client to add the option of IFC compliance which adds a higher sense of protection for thermal runway events and can control to the battery disconnect(s) allowing the BMSII to separate the battery string from power sources in the event of a thermal event. Modules are mated with quick connect power and sensing cabling that is fused for; reverse polarity, over current and over voltage protection of the sensing and balancing module. Double tab installation, two tabs per terminal post, is required for impedance accuracy. SINGLE POINT IP CONNECTION FirstLine BMS-II allows for multiple devices to be monitored from one IP connection. The controller / web manager allows for the integration of UPS telemetry, remote contract telemetry and other devices such as ground fault detection, hydrogen detection, and smoke detection.

WWW.STACOENERGY.COMTOGETHER WE POWER ON APPLICATIONS GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS Below is the typical application for a FirstLine BMSII system in an UPS environment. As noted, the optional IFC Compliance Module allows control over the battery cabinet circuit breaker(s) in the event of a thermal runaway. The FirstLine BMS-II Battery Monitoring System consist of a Controller / Web Manager that retrieves and stores data, Cell Monitor Modules that provide voltage, impedance and temperature of each jar or monoblock battery and (optional) Current Transformer to monitor charge and discharge current, (optional) IFC Compliance module to control the battery circuit breaker(s) upon detection of a thermal runaway, (optional) ground fault detector to alert you to service related issues such as electrolyte leakage to ground, (optional) hydrogen detection module to detect the release or presence of hydrogen, and (optional) smoke detector to alert you to a possible thermal runaway event.
