Output The environments in which capacitive sensors are install- ed can often be un stable re- garding temperature, humi dity , object distance and industrial (noise) interference. Because of this, Carlo Ga vazzi offers as standard features in all TRIP LESHIELD™ capacitive sensors a user-friendly sen - sitivity adjustment instead of having a fixed sensing range, extend ed sen sing range to accommodate mechanically demand ing are as, temperatu- re stability to en sure minimum need for adjusting sensitivity if temperature varies and high immunity to elec tro magnetic interference (EMI). Note: Sensors are factory set (default) to maximum rated sensing range. Adjustment Guide Programmable NO or NC (by selector switch backview) (2-wire device backview) Installation Hints Capacitive sensors have the unique ability to detect al- most all materials, either in li quid or solid form. Capa- ci tive sensors can detect metallic as well as non-me - tallic ob jects, how ever, their traditional use is for non-me- tallic materials such as:

  • Plastic Industry Resins, regrinds or mould- ed products.
  • Chemical Industry Cleansers, fertilisers, liquid soaps, corrosives and pe - - t ro chemicals.
  • Wood Industry Saw dust, paper products, door and window frames.
  • Ceramic & Glass Industry Raw material, clay or finish ed products, bottles.
  • Packaging Industry Package inspecti - on for level or con - tents, dry goods, fruits and vegetables, dairy products. Materials are detected due to their dielectric constant. The bigger the size of an object, the higher the den - sity of ma terial, the better or easier it is to detect the obje- ct. Nominal sensing di stan- ce for a capacitive sensor is refe r enced to a grounded me tal plate (ST37).
