Recovery duration (Sec.) Load (%) Load (%) The peak loading and overload characteristics can be program m ed into one of tw o m odes by appropriate selection of the O CP m ode sw itch on the front panel. A peak load of up-to 15 0% can be taken for a given duration. This duration depends on the percentage of peak load taken and can be determ ined by graph A below. If the load is reduced to less than 100% of nom inal either before or at the end of the duration, then there is a period of recovery needed to allow the pow er supply to cool dow n before the peak load can be re-applied. The tim e required for recovery depends on the am ount of reduction of load and can be determ ined by graph B below. How ever, if the peak load period exceeds the duration indicated by graph A the output w ill go into constant current m ode for protection. The constant current value w ill be 105 % of the nom inal rating. D uring constant current operation, if the output voltage should fall below 40% of the rated voltage then the output w ill turn off and try to restart for five tim es before turning off perm anently. O nce this has happened, the output w ill need to be reset by turning the AC m ains off and on again. The output can be controlled by applying a voltage betw een pin 3 of the D C output w ith respect to pin 4. The effect of the control is dependant upon the R C sw itch setting on the front panel. If the sw itch is set to position 1 then the output can be disabled by applying a suitable voltage. If the sw itch is set to position 2 then the output can be enabled by applying a voltage. In the range of 2 .5 V to 9.0 V lim ited to 2 0 m A. A peak load of up-to 15 0% can be taken for a given duration. This duration depends on the percentage of peak load taken as described by graph A. O nce the peak load duration is exceeded, the output w ill turn off for 3-4 seconds before autom atically restarting.
