The screws are factory sealed and it is not recommended to change the adjustment. Tampering of screws may void all warranties. Thermostats are tested at sea level where the barometer is 101.3kpa. If thermostats are tested at higher altitude where the barometer is lower, the operating temperature will be lower. The compensation will depend on the gas used and the operating temperature.
