Its main advantage is that it allo ws testing of the operator's resistance to ground at the workstation. It should be mounted at the workstation in a convenient place to allow connection of o ne or two operators. - Operators connected to another Earth Bonding Point (EBP) in proximity of the instrument can test too - Uses an external power supply - Earth cord must be connected to ground. Both studs are fitted with a 1 megohm resistor - Indicates fail high or idle, pass and fail low via three LEDs and a buzzer. Buzzer sounds at pass - Comes with power supply, fixing screws, spare ring terminal and calibration certificate - The unit is packed in a carton which is labelled with the Farnell label showing the Farnell Part Number: 3026814 Made in Britain SPECIFICATIONS: Fail low: 0.75 - 0.85 megohm Fail high: 34 - 36 megohm Accuracy (at +20°C): +/– 6% Open circuit voltage: 5V max Short circuit current: 12μA max POWER SUPPLY: 2.5mm OD plug center positive, 12VDC, >150mA PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Weight, tester only 110g Weight, including power supply 360g Dimensions of tester only 76mm x 51mm x 32mm Fixing screws 4mm x 36mm Fixing screw hole spacing 22mm “The primary means of grounding personnel shall normally be by a wrist strap connected to an EBP [Earth Bonding Point].” “The wrist strap shall consist of a band that fits snugly around the wrist and a cord to connect the band to an EBP. The wrist strap shall incorporate a quick release connection. The cord shall have a termination compatible with the EBP and shall incorporate at least one insulated current-limiting resistor. The total resistance from hand to EBP shall be in accordance with table 1 [Rg 7,5 x 10E5 to 3,5 x 10E7 ohms].” [EN 61340-5-1 clause 5.5 and 5.2.7]
