TF0113 Series Digitally Tunable LC Filters 90MHz – 512MHz I. General & Electrical Requirements 1. Tuned Center Frequency Range (FCOM) Note 1: FMIN = 90MHz to FMAX = 512MHz in 500 steps 2. Passband @ 3dB: ±2.5% minimum 3. Passband Insertion Loss: < 5.0dB 4. Passband Variation (FSIG ±1.5%, peak-valley): < 1.5dB 5. FTUNE VSWR (within the FSIG Passband into 50Ω): < 2.0:1 6. Absolute Stop Band Attenuation: FSIG ±10%: 16 dB minimum 2x FSIG to < 750MHz: 35dB minimum FSIG ±20%: 27 dB minimum 750MHz to 1.2GHz: 25dB minimum 30MHz to ½ FSIG: 38dB minimum 1.2GHz to 2.0GHz: 15dB minimum 7. In-band 3rd Order Intercept: +40dBm minimum 2 tones at FTUNE ±0.5%, +24dBm/tone 8. In Band RF Power Handling: ≤ 2.0-watts CW 9. Out of Band Power Handling: 5-watts CW, > FTUNE ±10% 10. ZIN/ZOUT: 50Ω nominal 11. Tuning Method: Digital Control: 500-steps (501 frequencies), 8-bit parallel control Band-0, 90.54MHz to 225MHz: FSTEP = 0.54MHz Band-1, 226.148MHz to 512MHz, FSTEP = 1.148MHz Tuning Speed (+10dBm reference): < 20µsec Tuning Speed is defined from second rising edge of STROBE to 90% steady state RF voltage. 12. DC Power: VCCA: +5VDC ±10% ICCA: < 320mA VCCD: +3.3VDC ±10% ICCD: < 30µA Vbb: +200VDC ±10% Ibb: < 5mA Note 1: FSIG = Frequency of the signal, FCOM is the target command frequency that the filter will be directed to. FCOM = Integer ((FSIG- FMIN)/ FSTEP)* FSTEP + FMIN Note 2: Vbb= +200V, the filter command frequencies are set up with +200V applied. Vbb = +100V (Ibb = 5mA), Power handling reduces to 1.25-watt. II. Environmental & Physical Requirements 1. Temperature Range: Operating: -30°C to +75°C Storage: -40°C to +85°C 2. Package: Style: SMT (ref. Figure 1) Materials: Base: PCB Cover: Silver Plated Brass per ASTM B 700 Termination Finish: Sn63Pb37 tinned Page 1 of 3 MtronPTI - 2525 Shader Road - Orlando - Florida - 32804 - USA - 1-407-298-2000 - www.mtronpti.com The information contained herein is proprietary to MtronPTI and is submitted in confidence. TF0113 Series Digitally Tunable LC Filters 90MHz – 512MHz IV. Interface Timing: (cont.) When the STROBE goes HIGH, it activates the tuning process and the BAND BYTE would be stable and read available for approximately 350ηsec, after which the STROBE will go LOW. This would be followed by an approximate 350ηsec wait period, after which the STROBE will go HIGH to initiate the reading of the TUNE INDEX BYTE which would be stable and read available for approximately 350ηsec, after which the STROBE will go LOW. The next TUNE process would follow no sooner than approximately 22µsec after the completion of the last TUNE and would be triggered when the STROBE goes High.
