Description

The SKY12222 is a voltage controlled, variable attenuator from Skyworks series of HIP3™ components. The device has been designed to operate over the 1.50–2.50 GHz frequency band but is specifically optimized for use as a wide dynamic range, low distortion attenuator for DCS and PCS base station applications centered at 1.8375 GHz and 1.960 GHz, respectively. The SKY12222 provides monotonic attenuation performance from -40 to +85 °C over its entire control voltage range. This attenuator is comprised of a pair of matched PIN diodes which terminate two ports of its internal 90° hybrid coupler. The diodes are biased via an external control voltage signal which is internally conditioned by an innovative temperature compensa- tion circuit. This attenuator requires no external components. It operates from 0–12 V at 1.6 mA typical control current at max- imum attenuation. Skyworks offers lead (Pb)-free, RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)-compliant packaging.
