It incorporates a directly mo dulated transmitter, RF preamplifier, optical receiver, RF p ost amplifier and optical AGC. It provides +8 dBm mini mum of optic al output power. The o ptical AGC provides fixed gain operation for a constant RF input p ower and varying optical link budgets. The unit ca n be used to construct transparent optical links for RF test cell antenna remoting, RF signal distribution, RF delay line s, point-to- point data links and other applications wher e it is necessary to transport RF signals over long distances without signal degradation.
