Repulpable Double-Coated Tapes R3227 • R3257 • R3287 • R3287SL Technical Data March 2014 Product Descriptions 3M™ Repulpable Tapes R3227, R3257, R3287 and R3287SL† are double coated tapes with paper carriers coated with a high tack, high shear strength, repulpable adhesive. The tapes have repulpable easy-release paper liners. As tested in laboratory, however, heat resistance may depend on machine and web tensions, nature of paper surface and/or coatings, application pressure, etc. which are outside of 3M control. *All components of the adhesive and backing meet the requirements of indirect food additive regulations as described under CFR 21 176.10 (Components of paper and paperboards in contact with aqueous and fatty food) and 21 CFR 176.180 (Components of paper and paperboards in contact with dry foods). Application Techniques For optimum results, firm even rub down pressure should be applied to the tapes and paper to create the best possible adhesion between the adhesive and paper surface.   • Roll closing.
  • Temporary and pull through splicing on coated and uncoated papers and cellulosic materials.
  • Splicing at sheeting and other paper converting operations.

  • Packing in sealed plastic bags helps protect constant moisture content of unused tape.
