Description

With its compact size, integral shutter, keystone mounting format and tool less termination, the K6 Jack from 3M ensures a smart and reliable installation. All 8 copper conductors are effortlessly ter- minated in one simple operation resulting in reliable interconnection in record time. If a wiring mistake is made the K6 Jack may be reused several times. To ensure appropriate electromagnetic compatibility three jack for- mats are offered: UTP , FTP (with drain wire), and STP with 360° braid or foil connection. Cable entry can be made from either the top or bottom of the Jack providing flexibility during installation. A wide range of face plates and patch panels is available in the 'K' range which utilise the advantages of the K6 Jack. A wide range of face plates and boxes are available for the 'K' series Jacks which ensure easy fitting and smart presentation of the RJ45 outlet. Vertical and 30° angled versions are offered in local country adaptations giving the ability to surface or flush mount. The K eystone mounting feature of the Jack may allow you to use VF-45TM or other Keystone boxes or face plates. Different colour options are available in some versions. A label holder and white application icon (coloured icons are available) fin- ish the presentation to give a smart and functional appearance. The Jacks have an integral dust cover providing a fully shuttered patch panel presentation. In the Classic versions, a cable tray and the ability to earth ensures quick and reliable cable fixing for all three formats, UTP , FTP with drain wire, and STP 360° braid or foil con- nection, to ensure electromagnetic compatibility. 1.2.2 Volition™ Outlets and Faceplates

1.2.4 Volition™ Installation Indoor/Outdoor

Cable, 50/125/250µm The Volition Indoor / Outdoor fibre optic cable includes both horizon- tal and backbone cable with eit- her 50/125µm, 62,5/125µm mul- timode or 9/125µm singlemode fibre. The primary application of the cable is for indoor and outdoor installations into cable trays or ducts in LAN’s. All cable sheaths are LSZH (low smoke zero halo- gen) rated to fulfill the safety requirements for internal cabling. All cable variants have good resistance to water. The cable core is water resistant which is achieved by a combination of an expanding tape and gel filled tubes allowing for the cables to be installed in areas where water within ducts is a possibility. Each category of Volition Indoor / Outdoor cable is available in fibre counts ranging from 2 to 144 fibres. Other constructions are available upon request. Indoor / Outdoor Cable Highlights:

1.2.6 Volition™ VF-45™ Test Leads

Volition reference cable kits enable connections to be made to test equipment fitted with an ST or SC connector interface. The trans- mit cable consists of a VF45 socket on one end and a choice of either 2 ST, SC or FC at the other end. The receive cable has a VF-45 socket housed in a protective casing on one end and at the other there are either 2 ST or 2 SC connectors. The 100m OTDR cables are necessary to ensure the near end connector is outside the near end dead zone of the OTDR being used. Launch cables are available with SC connectors. Volition media converters allow simple and cost effective use- age of existing network equipment (fitted with RJ45 connectors for copper wiring) with fibre optic cables. The Volition media converter converts a twisted pair signal into the corresponding optical signal.
