DESCRIPTION
ORDERING NUMBERS : L4920 (Pentawatt) L4921 (Minidip) BLOCK DIAGRAM The L4920and L4921 are adjustable voltage regu- latorswith a verylow voltage drop(0.4V typ. at 0.4A Tj=2 5°C), low quiescent current and comprehen- sive on-chip protection. Thesedevicesareprotectedagainstload dumpand field decay transients, polarity reversal and over heating. A foldbackcurrentlimiter protectsagainstload short circuits. The outputvoltageis adjustablethrough an external divider from 1.25V to 20V. The minimum operating input voltage is 5.2V (T J =2 5°C). Minidip (4 + 4) These regulators are designed for automotive, in- dustrial and consumer applications where low con- sumption is particularly important. In batterybackup and standbyapplications the low consumptionof these devices extends battery life.
