E ach application m ay contain other variables w hich m ust be considered in part selection, such as tem perature effects, w aveform distortion, etc. A PI D elevan Sales/E ngineering is available to provide inform ation as needed to fit each application. D ata is representative of a D C current w ith less than 1% ripple and an AC w aveform less than: 50 gauss on the H C T -37X, 2 5 gauss on the H C T -4 4 X, 15 gauss on the H C T -50X and 10 gauss on the H C T -68X.The effect of AC or ripple flux can be significant in m any D C inductor applications. W hen significantly greater AC flux density is present, it becom es necessary to consider its effect on both core loss and perm eability (inductance). A ll data points, on the above graphs, that exceed the rated D C current specified for a 55°C rise from a 2 5°C am bient are for design reference only and are not intended to im ply continuous use at those D C current levels. 1/2 009 API_newlayouts_single:APIcatalog_newlayouts 8/26/10 9:44 AM Page 82
