Description

The GB5305 is a complete constant-current / constant-voltage linear charger for single-cell lithium-ion battery. The DIP-8 package and low external component count make the GB5305 well-suited for portable applications. The GB5305 will automatically detect the polarity o f the inserted battery and charge the battery at the correct polarity. The final charge voltage is fixed at 4.2V. The GB5305 automatically terminates the charge cycle when the charge current drops to 30 ~ 40mA after the final float voltage is reached. The GB5305 also includes thermal feedback to limit the chip temperature during high power operation or high ambient temperature conditions. GB5305 supports LED drivers, which will be explained in detail in the application notes.
