APPLICATIONS

Used primarily for paint masking and other applications requiring a temporary protective cover. It is particularly good for small sized masks. PERFORMANCE PROPERTIES TEST METHODS TYPICAL RESULTS Short Term High Service Temperature 2 hours at various temperatures No visible effect to tape at 120°C; very slight discoloration at 145°C. Removed cleanly from stainless steel and phenolic without adhesive residue at 145°C. Long Term High Service Temperature 30 days at various temperatures No visible effect to tape at 50°C; very slight discoloration at 60°C. Some adhesive residue at temperatures greater than 60°C. Long Term Low Service Temperature 30 days at - 70°C (- 94°F) No visible effect to tape. Removed cleanly from stainless steel and phenolic without adhesive residue.

Removed cleanly from stainless steel and phenolic without adhesive residue UV Light Resistance ASTM G155, Cycle 1 (without water) 30 days in Q -Sun Xenon Test Chamber Tape discolored and embrittled, and is no longer removable. B -540 is not recommended for outdoor applications. Shelf Life: Shelf life is two years from the date of receipt for this product as long as this product is stored in its original packaging in an environment below 80° F (27° C) and 60% RH. It remains the responsibility of the user to assess the risk of using this product.
