FEATURES

No External Support Circuits

APPLICATIONS

The Analog DevicesModel CAV-1202 AID Converterisa unique combinationof 12-bitresolution,2MHz word rates, and small sizecapableofbeingappliedina multitudeofhigh-speeddigitizing applications. This remarkable, complete converterincludesa track-and-hold alongwith encoding and timingcircuitsin a single"Eurocard" format. The unitrequiresonly an encode command and external power supplies;no externalsupport circuitsareneeded. Increasingly, largescaleelectronicdevicesand systemsaredesigned in modular form. This approach forcombining complex circuits and subsystemsisbestservedifallcomponents of the systems GAIN ANALOG INPUT sharea common, standardgeometry. When they do, itbecomes possibleto combine modules ofvariousfunctionsand manufac- turersin one common subrack. In Europe and many otherpartsoftheworld,Europa and double Europa-sizeprintedcircuitboards areused extensivelyas the basisofa standardized19"system.The fourlevelsofthissystem have evolvedintoa standardarrangement ofdimensionswhich make itpossibleto combine components in one leveland insert them intothe components of the next higherlevel. The designoftheCA V-1202 isbasedon theLevel 2 requirements forprintedcircuitboard subunitsand meets the standardses- tablishedby DIN 41494, IEC 48D (see)12.
