TheCA3078AandCA3078canbephasecompensatedwith oneortwoexternalcomponentsdependingupontheclosed loopgain,powerconsumption,andspeeddesired.The recommendedcompensationisaresistorinserieswitha capacitorconnectedfromTerminal1toTerminal8.Valuesof theresistorandcapacitorrequiredforcompensationasa functionofclosedloopgainareshowninFigures25and26. Thesecurvesrepresentthecompensationnecessaryat quiescentcurrentsof100µAand20µA,respectively,fora transientresponsewith10%overshoot.Figures23and24 showtheslewratesthatcanbeobtainedwiththetwodifferent compensationtechniques.Higherspeedscanbeachieved withinputcompensation,butthisincreasesnoiseoutput. Compensationcanalsobeaccomplishedwithasingle capacitorconnectedfromTerminal1toTerminal8,withspeed beingsacrificedforsimplicity.Table1givesanindicationof slewratesthatcanbeobtainedwithvariouscompensation techniquesatquiescentcurrentsof100µAand20µA. SingleSupplyOperation TheCA3078AandCA3078canoperatefromasinglesupply withaminimumtotalsupplyvoltageof1.5V.Figures4and5 showtheCA3078AorCA3078ininvertingandnon-inverting 20dBamplifierconfigurationsutilizinga1.5Vtype“AA”cell forasupply.Thetotalconsumptionforeithercircuitis approximately675nW.Theoutputvoltageswinginthis configurationis300mV P-Pwitha20kΩload.
