(Global Part Number) High Voltage Ceramic Capacitors (over 10kV) tCapacitance Expressed by three figures. The unit is pico-farad (pF). The first and second figures are significant digits, and the third figure expresses the number of zeros which follow the two numbers. If there is a decimal point, it is expressed by the capital letter "R ". In this case, all figures are significant digits. First three digits of part number (qProduct ID and wSeries Category) express "Series Name". t 101 y M q DH u r e w R i B qProduct ID Code Temp. Char. Temp. Operating Voltage Keep the surface tem perature of a capacitor below the upper lim it of its rated operating tem perature range. Be sure to take into account the heat generated by the capacitor itself. W hen the capacitor is used in a high- frequency current, pulse current or sim ilar current, it m ay self-generate heat due to dielectric loss. The applied voltage load should be such that the capacitor's self- generated heat is w ithin 10°C at an atm osphere tem perature of 25°C . W hen m easuring, use a therm ocouple of sm all therm al capacity-K of ø0.1m m in conditions w here the capacitor is not affected by radiant heat from other com ponents or surrounding am bient fluctuations. Therefore, please approve our product specifications or transact the approval sheet for product specifications before ordering. Caution 1. Operating voltage W hen D C -rated capacitors are to be used in AC or ripple current circuits, be sure to m aintain the Vp-p value of the applied voltage or the Vo-p w hich contains D C bias w ithin the rated voltage range. W hen the voltage is applied to the circuit, starting or stopping m ay generate irregular voltage for a transit period because of resonance or sw itching. Be sure to use a capacitor w ith a rated voltage range that includes these irregular voltages. 2. Operating temperature and self-generated heat Keep the surface tem perature of a capacitor below the upper lim it of its rated operating tem perature range. Be sure to take into account the heat generated by the capacitor itself. W hen the capacitor is used in a high-frequency current, pulse current or sim ilar current, it m ay self-generate heat due to dielectric loss. The applied voltage load should be such that the capacitor's self-generated heat is w ithin 10°C at an atm osphere tem perature of 25°C. W hen m easuring, use a therm ocouple of sm all therm al capacity-K of ø0.1m m in conditions w here the capacitor is not affected by radiant heat from other com ponents or surrounding am bient fluctuations. Excessive heat m ay lead to deterioration of the capacitor's characteristics and reliability. (N ever attem pt to perform m easurem ent w ith the cooling fan running. O therw ise, accurate m easurem ent cannot be ensured.) 3. Installation Installation torque should not exceed the torque strength values in "Specifications and Test M ethods". D o not use a screw w ith a thread depth greater than specified. Avoid installation in w hich any bending torque is applied to the capacitor term inal. D o not rew ork or resolder the term inal. 4. Operating and storage environment The insulating coating of capacitors does not form a perfect seal; therefore, do not use or store capacitors in a corrosive atm osphere, especially w here chloride gas, sulfide gas, acid, alkali, salt or the like are present. And avoid exposure to m oisture. Before cleaning, bonding, or m olding this product, verify that these processes do not affect product quality by testing the perform ance of a cleaned, bonded or m olded product in the intended equipm ent. Store the capacitors w here the tem perature and relative hum idity do not exceed –10 to 40°C and 15 to 85% . U se capacitors w ithin 6 m onths. 5. Vibration and impact D o not expose a capacitor to excessive shock or vibration during use. Failure to follow the above cautions may result, worst case, in a short circuit and cause fuming or partial dispersion when the product is used.
