Circuit Protection & Control E-T-A Battery Master Switch BMS01 ADR Compliance for Transportation of Hazardous Goods.
The BMS01 is a battery master switch for road tankers transporting hazardous goods in accordance with the 2005 edition of International ADR recommendations, paragraph 9.2.2.3. The master switch can be operated by means of a control switch in the driver’s cab for disconnection and reconnection of the vehicle’s electrical system. Additional control switches can be sited around the vehicle as required. An integral safety barrier permits siting of the master switch in explosive areas. Additional auxiliary contacts are provided for disconnection of the ignition circuit, de-energisation of the alternator field winding, or a controlled shut-down of the CAN-BUS system followed after a delay by disconnection of the battery. An adaptive delay linked with the ignition is also available to meet Euro 4/5 emission requirements. The BMS01 is available in single pole and double pole versions and thus meets the requirements of the UK Energy Institute. A specially protected output of the BMS01 provides a permanent supply to the tachograph even with the battery disconnected. Integral zero voltage monitoring prevents the battery from total discharge during long idle periods. Visual status indication (ON/OFF or low voltage) is by means of a bicolour LED.
