10GBASE-T | 5GBASE-T | 2.5GBASE-T | 1000BASE-T | 100BASE-TX SUMMARY OF BENEFITS

  • NBASE-T™ featuring AQrate® Adaptive Rate Operation
  • Built-in thermal management capabilities – On-die thermal sensor with alarm and warning thresholds
  • IEEE ® 802.3u, 802.3ab, 802.3an, and 802.3bz compliant auto-negotiation
  • 5GBASE-T, 2.5GBASE-T over 100 meters of Cat 5e (or better) cable
  • 10GBASE-T up to 30 meters with Cat 6 (or better) cable
  • Enables deployment in thermally constrained environments
  • Interoperability with existing Ethernet infrastructure DEVICE NAME AQS107 The Aquantia AQS-107/AQS-108/AQS-109 SFP+ modules are based on Aquantia’s GEN2 AQrate PHY, which provides low-power, high-performance, multi-gigabit 10GBASE-T /5GBASE-T /2.5GBASE-T /1000BASE-T /100BASE-TX transceivers. The SFP+ modules deliver the flexibility expected in the SFP+ form-factor to provide 5 GbE and 2.5GbE network connectivity speeds through 100 meters of Cat 5e cabling. Using a 30-meter Cat 6a cable, 10 GbE speeds are achievable. Aquantia’s SFP+ modules solution delivers an active rate-adaptation technology that allows users to connect seamlessly using twisted-pair copper-based 2.5G and 5G modules into existing SFP+ slots that were previously considered to be 10G fiber-optic only—at a cost that can easily be absorbed. The Aquantia SFP+ modules are compliant with the NBASE-T Alliance PHY Specifications and the IEEE® 802.3an/bz standard to perform all the physical layer functions that are required to implement 10GBASE-T /5GBASE-T /2.5GBASE-T /1000BASE-T /100BASE-TX transmission over twisted pair cabling. The Aquantia SFP+ modules operate over the Commercial 0 C to 70 C temperature range.

APPLICATIONS

The Aquantia AQS SFP+ modules enable equipment networking and are ideally suited for switch-to-switch intercon- nect. In Enterprise configurations, switches are typically shipping with 1G ports and 10G fiber-optic uplink slots to connect multiple switches together. Now, those uplinks can be achieved at higher speeds using the same slots, but with cost-effective copper cabling. Consumer demand for high-bandwidth applications such as video streaming is expanding as fast as Enterprise demand for cloud-computing architectures. The increased usage paces tremendous demand on data centers as well as Enter- prise IT departments. To meet this challenge, IT managers and data center providers will need to upgrade their current 1GbE capabilities to 2.5 GbE, 5 GbE, and 10 GbE. Aquantia Corp.,
