The ADSOS achievesa minimum slew rate of 120V/l1sec,providesan adjustableunitygain bandwidth product of 4MHz to 10MHz, and settlesto 0.1% in 800nsec. In additionto itssuperiordynamic characteristics,the ADSOS maintainshigh gain,maximum offsetvoltagedriftof lSp.V/C, maximum biascurrentsof 2SnA and high output swing. The circuithas a stable6dB/octave rollofffor closedloop operation.Itisalsocapableof beingexternallyadjustedfor up to 3SdB of additionalclosedloop gain athigh frequencies, without causingthe smallsignalor largesignalbandwidth to decrease,and without increasingsettlingtimes. The ADSOS isdesignedfor high speed invertingapplications by usinga feed-forwardtechnique. Itcan drivecapacitive loadsinexcessof 1000pF and isshortcircuitprotected. The ADSOS providesperformance superiorto most high speed IC op amps and comparable to modular versions. Because of itsmonolithicconstruction,however, itscostis significantlybelow thatof modules, and becomes even lower inlargequantities. Allthe circuitsaresuppliedinthe TO-100 package. The ADSOS) and ADSOSK arespecifiedfor DoC to +70oC temperature range operation;the ADSOSS for operation from -55°C to +100°C. Ease of use and predictabilityof operationmake the ADSOS an all-purposeamplifierthatisfreeof the problems found inmost high frequency amplifiers. SLEW RATE AND SETTLING TIME Both slew rateand settlingtime aremeasures of an amplifier's speed of responseto an input. Slew rateisan inherent characteristicof the amplifierand, thus,isgenerallyless subjectto misinterpretationthan issettlingtime,which is oftenmore dependent upon the testcircuitthan the amplifier'sabilityto perform. One of the problems intakingadvantage of the excellenthigh frequency capabilitiesof the AD5 30 Multiplier-Dividerissimply finding a low-costintegrated-.-:ircuitamplifiercapable of drivingit with :tlOV atfrequenciesup to lMHz. The AD505J makes an excellentpreamplifierfor thispurpose;itisshown above connected forgain of 50, and appliedto one of the AD530 inputs.Eitheror both inputsignalscan be preamplified inthismanner. In thiscircuit,the internal20krl resistorhas been shorted out formaximum bandwidth. The frequency for-3dB responseinthisconfigurationistypically1.6MHz, with fulloutput capability.
