SN54ACT245, SN74ACT245 OCTAL BUS TRANSCEIVERS WITH 3-STATE OUTPUTS SCAS452E – SEPTEMBER 1994 – REVISED OCTOBER 2002 1POST OFFICE BOX 655303 • DALLAS, TEXAS 75265 /C0068 4.5-V to 5.5-V VCC Operation /C0068 Inputs Accept Voltages to 5.5 V /C0068 Max tpd of 8 ns at 5 V /C0068 Inputs Are TTL-Voltage Compatible SN54ACT245 ...J O R W PACKAGE SN74ACT245 . . . FK PACKAGE (TOP VIEW)A2 DIR B6 OE GND VCC DIR GND VCC OE description/ordering information These octal bus transceivers are designed for asynchronous two-way communication between data buses. The control-function implementation minimizes external timing requirements. When the output-enable (OE) is low, the device passes noninverted data from the A bus to the B bus or from the B bus to the A bus, depending upon the logic level at the direction-control (DIR) input. A high on OE disables the device so that the buses are effectively isolated. To ensure the high-impedance state during power up or power down, OE should be tied to VCC through a pullup resistor; the minimum value of the resistor is determined by the current-sinking capability of the driver.

TBD: The Pb-Free/Green conversion plan has not been defined. Pb-Free (RoHS):TI's terms "Lead-Free" or "Pb-Free" mean semiconductor products that are compatible with the current RoHS requirements for all 6 substances, including the requirement that lead not exceed 0.1% by weight in homogeneous materials. Where designed to be soldered at high temperatures, TI Pb-Free products are suitable for use in specified lead-free processes. Pb-Free (RoHS Exempt):This component has a RoHS exemption for either 1) lead-based flip-chip solder bumps used between the die and package, or 2) lead-based die adhesive used between the die and leadframe. The component is otherwise considered Pb-Free (RoHS compatible) as defined above. Green (RoHS & no Sb/Br):TI defines "Green" to mean Pb-Free (RoHS compatible), and free of Bromine (Br) and Antimony (Sb) based flame retardants (Br or Sb do not exceed 0.1% by weight in homogeneous material) (3) MSL, Peak Temp. -- The Moisture Sensitivity Level rating according to the JEDEC industry standard classifications, and peak solder temperature.
