ATG Gold Adhesive Transfer Tape 908 Technical Data September, 2009 Product Description Scotch® A TG Gold Adhesive Transfer Tape 908 is .002" (0.05 mm) thick, acid free, pressure sensitive, permanent adhesive transfer tape. Construction Product Tape 908 Adhesive Type: 320AF* Release Liner: White paper with printed red 3M logo Approximate Thickness Release Liner: .003 in. (0.08 mm) T ape Only: 0.002 in. (0.05 mm) T ape Color: Clear *320AF is an acid-free medium-firm acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive system. It features a good balance of high initial adhesion (quick stick) and shear holding power. Typical Physical Properties and Performance Characteristics Note: The following technical information and data should be considered representative or typical only and should not be used for specification purposes. Adhesion to Steel (Stainless): (ASTM D-3330)* 60 oz./in. (66 N/100 mm) *Modified: 72 Hr. room temperature dwell - 180 degree peel at 12 in/min (305 mm/min) - 2 mil. aluminum to stainless steel. - Bond strength is dependent upon the amount of adhesive-to-surf ace contact developed. Firm application pressure helps develop better contact (wet out) and improved bond strength.
- To obtain optimum adhesion, the bonding surf aces must be clean, dry, and well unified.
- Ideal tape application temperature range is 70°F to 100°F (21°C to 38°C). Initial tape application to surfaces at temperatures below 50°F (10°C) is not recommended because the adhesive becomes too firm to adhere readily. However, once properly applied, low temperature holding is generally satisfactory.
ATG Gold Adhesive Transfer Tape 908 General Information • Scotch® A TG Tape 908 is reversed wound and designed for use in Scotch® A TG 700 series hand-held applicators.
- Tape 908 is photo safe in accordance with both Black – and – White Photographic Activity Tests and Color Photographic Activity Tests (per ANSI IT9.16).
