9038B • 9038W Technical Data March 2014 Product Description 3M™ Repulpable Double-Coated Web Splicing Tape 9038 is a light-weight tissue coated on both sides with a high tack, high shear strength, repulpable adhesive and are furnished on a repulpable easy-release paper liner. Available in blue and white tape. Features • All components of the adhesive and backing meet the requirements of indirect food additive regulations as described under 21 CFR 176.170 (Components of paper and paperboard in contact with aqueous and fatty food) and 21 CFR 176.180 (Components of paper and paperboard in contact with dry foods).

  • Packing in sealed plastic bags helps assure constant moisture content of unused tape.
  • Virtually eliminates the human element from flying splice adhesive operations. There are no “drying times,” “correct mixtures,” “too soft,” “too wet,” etc. which depend on operator performance or judgements.
  • Water solubility and alkali dispersability are excellent and eliminate danger of contaminating the paper mill broke with non-repulpable material. (Poor quality paper and plugged Fourdrinier screens often can be caused by typical non- repulpable rubber base splicing media.)
  • Not recommended for finished roll splices or where oozing and bleeding may occur.
