3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tape 8663/8663DL Technical Data Sheet Product Description 3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tape 8663/8663DL (dual liner) is made from an exceptionally tough abrasion resistant polyurethane elastomer that resists punctures, tearing, abrasion and erosion. It is formulated for resistance to ultraviolet light. 3M 8663 Tape provides a simple, easy method of protecting a surface from corrosion, abrasion and minor impact damage. 3M 8663 Tape and 3M 8663DL Tape are constructed with a long-aging, solvent-resistant, pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive that is protected with an easy-release plastic liner. 3M 8663 Tape is a transparent tape available in three liner configurations:

  • Single polypropylene liner on the adhesive side.
  • Single skip-slit polypropylene liner on the adhesive side.
  • Dual liners, one on each side of the tape. 3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tape 8663/8663DL General Information

  • 3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tape 8663 and 8663DL have excellent environmental resistance properties and have been used to isolate and protect substrates from environmental damage and corrosive elements.
  • 3M 8663 Tape can be used to provide a UV resistant surface coating for indoor and outdoor applications.
  • 3M 8663 DL Tape comes with a protective polyethylene adhesive liner and a polyester top liner that stiffens the product and can serve as an application aid for some installations. Both liners are removed after final installation. Primary use of this product is for aircraft floor covering/ corrosion protection per Boeing Service Letters 737-SL-53-034 and 757-SL-53-018.
  • 3M 8663 Tape may be painted per 3M Technical Bulletin Polyurethane Protective Tape, Painting Instructions. Shipping and Storage No special/hazardous labeling or packaging required or regulations for air, ground or water shipment for this product. Keep film in a clean area, away from excessive moisture and out of direct sunlight. Store rolls in the shipping carton. Return partially used rolls to the shipping carton. Shelf Life: Two (2) years from the date of manufacture or as expressly certified by 3M.
