X20060-2D M 40_N N M 1U -55 Upgrade/Extension Port D efinitions Standard upgrade port (U G) This is the m ost com m only used upgrade port for optical m ultiplexers as it is the m ost cost e/f_f.ligaective. From a technical point of view , it is sim ply the reflect light of the m ultiplexer/ dem ultiplexer. In other w ords, no additional filtering (hence m ost cost e/f_f.ligaective) resulting in the least favorable insertion loss and isolation values of all upgrade port types. The standard upgrade port is available for both C W D M and D W D M modules. D aisy-C hain U pgrade Port (dU G) This upgrade port has a dedicated band-pass-filter and is integrated into the m ultiplexer/ dem ultiplexer in such a w ay to m inim ize the insertion loss of the upgrade port. The low insertion loss of the upgrade port m akes it ideal for a daisy- chain setup. The daisy-chain upgrade port is available for D W D M m odules. Enhanced U pgrade Port (eU G) The enhanced upgrade port also has a dedicated band- pass-filter just like the dU G. How ever, the filter is integrated di/f_f.ligaerently into the m ultiplexer/ dem ultiplexer resulting in an im proved isolation of the upgrade port. The im proved isolation m akes it possible to use the upgrade port as an additional w hen not using it to cascade a further m ultiplexer/ dem ultiplexer. In other w ords, it is possible to connect a transceiver to the eU G port.The enhanced upgrade port is available for both C W D M and D W D M m odules Express Port (EXP) The express port is a band pass filter dedicated to the D W D M w avelengths. It is used as an upgrade port for C W D M m odules to add D W D M m odules. Since the express port is dedicated only to the D W D M w avelengths, the C W D M channels to the le/f_t.liga and right of this band can still be used. The express port therefore enables and ideal and m ost e/f_f.ligaicient com bination of a C W D M and D W D M cascade 13 10/ 1550 Port (13 / 15) A very cost e/f_f.ligaective m ethod to m ultiplex tw o signals is the so called W W D M (W ide W avelengths D ivision M ultiplexing). It is achieved by splitting the C W D M grid into tw o halves using a bandsplitter. This sim ple split allow s a com bination of the 13 10 and 1550 C W D M channels. How ever, as D W D M is in the 1550 area and 100G (Q SFP2 8) / 40G (Q SFP) services are in the 13 10 area, this m ethod can also be used as an upgrade/ extension port for C W D M and D W D M m odules HU BER+ SU HN ER is certified by ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IATF 16949, AS/ EN 9100 and ISO / TS 2 2 163 -IRIS.
