The m eter is also capable of m easur - ing frequency, period, resistance, continuity, and perform ing diode tests. Readings can be taken at a m axim um rate of 57 readings/sec and stored to an internal 512-byte buffer for post acquisition statistical analysis. The 549 2B was designed for cost-conscious users requiring an accurate m eter with a broad range of features offered at a value price. The 549 2B is program m able via U SB , RS232, and G PIB (549 2B G PIB only) interface using industry standard SC PI com m ands. U sers can rem otely control and configure the instrum ent from a PC and retrieve m easurem ent results for further analysis. The m ultim eter can also be rem otely controlled using application software (via U SB & RS232), which supports front panel em ulation and data logging of m easurem ent results.

B uffer storage operation can be enabled via front panel or rem ote com m and. The buffer fills up with the requested num ber of readings at a rate of up to 57 readings/sec and then stops. The instrum ent autom atically calculates statistical inform ation based on the stored readings such as m inim um , m axim um , or average reading, and standard deviation, which can then be retrieved along with the readings via the front panel or rem ote com m and. Fast Buffering w ith Built-in Statistics The lim it operation lets you set and control the values that determ ine a H I / IN / LO status of subsequent m easurem ents. The m eter can be configured to em it an audible alarm when readings are outside of the configured lim it.
