February, 2011 3M™ Vinyl Tape 472 Product Description 3M™ Vinyl Tape 472 is comprised of a heavy duty black vinyl backing with a black pigmented rubber adhesive. The thick vinyl backing makes it ideal for applications requiring both abrasion resistance and the inherent conformability of vinyl. The rubber adhesive has good instant adhesion and sticks well to a variety of surfaces. Product Features
- Best results are attained when applied to clean, dry surface at temperatures between 60° to 80°F (16° to 27°C).
- Thick backing is ideal where heavy abrasion is anticipated.
- Temperature resistance to 225°F (107°C).
- Pigmented adhesive will stain some surfaces. Testing by the user is recommended to determine suitability in the proposed application.
- Resists most common solvents, care should be taken to avoid ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons, and esters, found in lacquer thinners, degreasers, paint strippers, etc. which may cause the backing to swell or curl.
- Can be used in outdoor applications with clean removal from many surfaces up to 6 months.
- Stays on outdoors for up to a year.
