RoHS requires solder with no elemental lead (Pb). SAC alloy (96,5Sn / 3AG / 0,5Cu) is the most popular choice. Reed relays can be soldered by hand or by wave solder processing. Comus International recommends the maximum wave solder temperature (measured at the reed relay leads) as 270°C for 10 seconds. Temperature and time in excess of the recommended levels may result in damage to the reed relay. All of our through-hole reed relays will be compatible with either SAC alloy or eutectic soldering process.
