3M™ Trizact™ 8000 30803, 30804, 30805, 30806 Page 2 of 4 Product Uses Developed for paint finishing of automotive clear coat surfaces, light industrial clear coat surfaces, marine gelcoat and paint finishes. For professional use only. Not intended for retail sale. Directions for Use 1. Clean the area to be sanded with soap and water. Followed by paint company recommended wax and grease remover. 2. Level out dirt nibs/defects/te xture over large or small areas using one of the following: a. 3M™ Trizact™ Clearcoat Sanding Discs P1500 b. 3M™ Purple Finishing Film P1500 or P2000 c. 3M™ Wetordry™ Abrasive Sheet 1500 or 2000 3. Wipe off area with a clean cloth. Do not move onto the next step before wiping off the swarf/dust. 4. Scratch Refinement Trizact™ 3000 – Reduces buffing time by up to 75%. Using a spray bottle, apply enough water to dampen the 3M™ Trizact™ 3000 before sanding the panel. Damp sand the area to refine the scratches left from the previous step. This will take about 4-6 passes to ensure you get all the previous scratches out. Trizact™ abrasives work best with high throw/stroke D/A sanders. Recommendation is to use an orbit of 3/16” (5mm) or more to get the optimum performance out of Trizact abrasives. You will know the disc is cutting when the surface appears foamy. When necessary re-dampen the disc with water from a spray bottle to retain the foamy appearance. Note: The 3M™ Trizact™ can be used with or without an interface pad. Preferred usage is with the interface pad because it is more effective on curves, contours, edges, and minimizes a technician’s chance of burning through the paint. 5. Wipe off area with a clean clot h while surface is still damp to limit the amount of dust that gets into the air. Do not move onto the next step before wiping off the Trizact™ 3000 swarf/dust.
