  • Provides m otor overload, ground fault and short-circuit protection. W hen used in circuits subject to surge currents such as those caused by m otors, transform ers and other inductive com ponents, these fuses can be sized close to full-load am ps to give m axim um overcurrent protection.
  • The tim e-delay feature m akes it possible to use fuse am p ratings w hich are m uch sm aller than those of non-tim e delay fuses. C onsiderable cost saving occurs by perm itting the use of sm aller size sw itches, panels and fuses them selves.
  • Provides a good degree of short-circuit protection (greater current-lim itation) to help protect dow nstream com ponents from high fault currents.
  • Gives m otor running back-up protection to m otors w ithout extra cost.
  • H elps protect m otors against burnout from overloads and single-phasing w hen sized properly.
  • Sim plifies and im proves blackout prevention (selective coordination ratios).
  • D ual-elem ent fuses can be applied in circuits subject to tem porary m otor overloads and surge currents to provide both high-perform ance, short-circuit and overload protection.
