No. 2226-Series Nalgene® Heavy Duty Vacuum Bottles and Heavy Duty Vacuum Carboys are specially designed for use as extra-rugged storage and fluid collection containers. Featuring extra thick walls, the Heavy Duty Vacuum Bottles and Heavy Duty Vacuum Carboys can withstand full vacuum applications (see listing below). Guaranteed leakproof. These innovative products fill the need for a larger waste containment system to complement automated vacuum trap systems, and are an economic alternative to stainless steel and fiberglass-reinforced containers. CauTioN: Heavy Duty Vacuum Bottles and Heavy Duty Vacuum Carboys must not be subjected to vacuum conditions immediately after autoclaving. Allow bottle/carboy to cool to room temperature before applying vacuum. CauTioN: Heavy Duty Vacuum Bottles and Heavy Duty Vacuum Carboys must be autoclaved empty. Recommended autoclave cycle is 121˚C, 15 psig (1 bar) for 20 minutes.
- Before autoclaving, set cap/closure on top of the container without engaging the threads
- If closure is engaged, pressure differentials may cause containers to collapse during autoclaving
